An emulsion that is nearly homogeneous looks exactly like one that is homogeneous. Mixing is stopped on a timer because there is no signal that says it is done.
The problem
Formulation batches are built by adding ingredients in sequence and mixing for a validated time. Two failure modes hide in that. An ingredient that did not fully incorporate produces a batch that passes visual inspection and fails on stability weeks later. And a mixing time set for the worst case wastes energy and vessel occupancy on every batch that was ready sooner.
Because the property that matters is uniformity, a single grab sample is structurally the wrong measurement: it tells you about one point in a vessel whose whole question is whether the points differ.

Emulsification monitoring
Follow emulsion-related spectral features as the phase forms.
Learn moreIngredient incorporation
Characteristic absorption bands appear and grow as the ingredient goes in.
Learn moreHomogeneity endpoint
Spectral variance plateaus when the batch stops changing.
Learn moreDissolution kinetics
Time-resolved absorbance shows the rate and the completeness.
Learn moreComplex mixture quantification
Multi-component formulations resolved by the model.
Learn morePurity monitoring
Confirm the batch matches the approved reference.
Learn moreHow the endpoint is actually defined
- Stabilisation of the key spectral features — the batch stops changing chemically.
- A plateau in spectral variance, which indicates homogeneity or full dissolution.
- Statistical metrics such as standard deviation across the measurement period, so uniformity is quantified rather than asserted.
- Ingredient incorporation tracked through the appearance and rising intensity of the bands belonging to what you just added.
Viscosity has to stay below 10,000 cP for the flow path; above that the flow slows and cleaning becomes more frequent.
