Application
Resolve the line, not just the band
Gas-phase absorption lines are narrow and, at low pressure, largely unblended. That makes them highly specific — provided the measurement resolves them. Comb-based sources deliver both the resolution and the broad coverage needed to identify several species in one acquisition.
What the comb brings
- An inherently calibrated frequency axis, so line positions are absolute rather than relative to a scan.
- Broad coverage in a single acquisition, so several species are quantified at once.
- Ultralow relative intensity noise, which sets the detection floor of the instrument built around the source.
- A turn-key OEM source for developers integrating gas sensing into a product.
